Brief Background about Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA):
The Government of Bangladesh has established the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA) to coordinate and guide the transformation of Maheshkhali into a world-class commercial hub. With major national projects such as the Matarbari deep-sea port, energy hub, industrial zones, and modern township facilities, Maheshkhali is poised to become a strategic gateway for trade, investment, and economic growth.
MIDA is entrusted with ensuring that these diverse initiatives are well-integrated, sustainable, and aligned with the long-term vision of the country.
To strengthen its leadership team, the authority invites applications from highly qualified professionals for the position of- Executive Member, Planning & Development. This senior position will play a pivotal role in shaping the land use strategy for Maheshkhali.
The Executive Member will be responsible for guiding urban planning and infrastructure development, ensuring that land is allocated efficiently for seaport and logistics facilities, industrial hubs, power and energy zones, and modern residential townships with associated amenities.The Executive Member shall hold the status of an Additional Secretary to the Government and shall be entitled to remuneration, allowances, and other facilities accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation and implementation of land use and urban development plans.
• Designate and guide zoning for export processing, domestic industries, and foreign investment areas.
• Oversee planning of townships, healthcare, education, recreation, and tourism facilities.
• Ensure environmentally sustainable and investment-friendly development.
• Coordinate with government agencies, investors, and international partners.
Qualification:
⦁ At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in large scale land use planning, urban development, or infrastructure projects with at least 5 years in senior position(s).
• Proven track record(s) in managing or contributing to major development projects, preferably in township projects or industrial parks.
